Serveurs rack HPE Gen9 – neufs et reconditionnés

FAQ

What are HPE Gen9 servers and what are their key characteristics?

HPE Gen9 (9th generation HP Enterprise servers) is a rack server series introduced around 2014, built primarily around Intel Xeon E5 v3/v4 processors. These servers have a well-established reputation for reliability, their components are widely available, and the performance-to-price ratio - particularly for refurbished units - is very competitive.

Is an HPE Gen9 rack server a good fit for a small business?

Yes - it's a popular choice for small and medium-sized businesses that need a stable infrastructure without a large budget. Refurbished models significantly lower the entry cost while retaining full functionality and the option to expand RAM or storage down the line.

What is the difference between a rack server and a tower server?

A rack server is mounted in a server cabinet, providing a compact, scalable environment - ideal for server rooms and deployments with multiple devices running simultaneously. A tower server resembles a desktop computer and is better suited to smaller offices without dedicated infrastructure. If a business plans to grow, the rack format is generally the more convenient choice in the long run.

What is the difference between a new and a refurbished HPE Gen9 server?

A refurbished server is a previously used unit that has been technically inspected and often recertified - it performs just like a new one, but at a significantly lower cost. New servers come with a manufacturer warranty and a full support lifecycle; a refurbished Gen9 is a solid option when budget is a factor and there is no need for the latest generation of hardware.

Which processors do HPE Gen9 servers support?

HPE Gen9 servers run on Intel Xeon processors from the E5 v3 (Haswell) and E5 v4 (Broadwell) families. In dual-processor configurations, they can offer up to 44 cores, making them capable of handling everything from everyday business workloads to demanding virtualisation and database environments.

Where can I configure an HPE Gen9 server to meet my specific needs?

On the Hardware Direct website, you can get in touch with a technical advisor who will help you select the right model, memory configuration, storage, and network card for your particular use case. Many available Gen9 units can be upgraded or customised before shipping - so you only pay for exactly what you need.
